Written by teachers for teachers the Classroom Resource Pack provides a wide-ranging and comprehensive set of materials for teaching music in schools with computer technology, and uses the industry- standard Cubase 4 or Cubase Studio 4 as the technology platform. The Classroom Resource Pack is collection of innovative practical projects which teachers can integrate within their own scheme of work or music curriculum. The CRP provides a wealth of highly usable lesson materials to support the development of Composing, Performing and Listening skills for students aged 11 to 18. Recommended for College This software program has been designed to facilitate analysis of musical form while listening to and viewing music. For the first time computer users will understand the impact of seeing a musical score as they listen to music while analyzing its musical structure under their own control. The user can mark-up the score as they listen, stopping and starting the playback as they wish. The program includes high-quality music performances from the Naxos record catalogue as MP3 files and scrolling graphical music scores. The author has selected and arranged the music compositions in order of complexity and structural content. The software generates umbrella charts of the user’s score analysis to compare with the author’s umbrella analysis of each piece. A series of questions then guides the user to making decisions about the form of each of the fourteen compositions. These include:
This software is a powerful tool for students and instructors to use in music analysis. It has been tested extensively by the author with hundreds of college students enrolled in undergraduate courses in music theory. System Requirements:
