Teaching Composition Using Technology II

After a basic review of Level I principles, Level II immediately departs on the study of units of structure in music (form). Harmonic content, chord progressions, cadences, and more advanced tips for good melodic writing are covered. The course is written in PowerPoint and given to each teacher on DVD so that teachers can modify it to fit their particular grade level, definitions and teaching style. The course content presents compositional concepts and is followed up with movie presentation tutorials (Sibelius). The technology being used can be either Sibelius, Finale, Encore, Noteflight or any other music notation software as it is generic in nature. Designed to align with the Washington State CBPA's.
