The Mike Klinger Music Technology Retreat (home of The Synthesis Midi Workshop) was built in 2001 in Carson, WA. Located 50 miles east of Portland, Oregon in the beautiful Pacific NW Columbia River Gorge, the retreat center is only a 1 hour drive from the Portland airport. As part of his "dream come true", Mike Klinger carefully designed this 3800 sq. ft facility as a haven where music educators could come and study music technology in a peaceful, forest setting. It is equipped with a 12 station state of the art computer lab complete with hi-speed Internet and all of the latest music software/hardware. A variety of workshops are offered here which include weeklong summer workshops (June-September), weekend workshops on Friday evenings & Saturdays (Feb-March), school district in-services (TBA), and of course one on one private study where the guest stays on site for 2 full days with food/lodging provided.
